Welcome to Senioren-Wohnpark Radensleben!

Radensleben has the good fortune to be situated in one of the most beautiful places on earth. To the north a network of lakes extends like a string of beads to join up with the Mecklenburg Lakes and the Ruppiner Schweiz region. To the east it has the pine forests of the Beetzer Heide, to the south the Rhinluch with its endless expanses of open country, and the charming town of Neuruppin lies in the west. Radensleben is a farming village with 300 inhabitants, many of whom still live in traditional "Vierseiten Höfe" farm buildings. Even today, the economic lifeblood of the village is still agriculture, with the big regional names being Agrar GmbH and Gut Hesterberg.

Radensleben started off as a feudal estate tenured from 1684 by the von Quast family, who lived until 1945 in the manor house designed by Ferdinand von Quast and built in 1897. The park was laid out in 1846 according to the plans drawn up by the garden architect Peter Joseph Lenné. The von Quast family was forced to leave the estate in 1945, and the building was first used by Berlin's Charité hospital as a sanatorium for children with TB. In 1962 it became the central nursing home for the district of Neuruppin. Since 1991, Marseille-Kliniken has been running the home as Senioren-Wohnpark Radensleben GmbH. The building underwent extensive reconstruction and renovation to bring it into line with the latest standards in geriatric care. Sleeping quarters were added to the charming neo-gothic manor house with its balconies, turrets and oriel windows, and are connected to it via a spacious pavilion. The building now provides a friendly and sheltered home to 116 residents.

We have developed a special care concept for the mentoring and care of chronic, multiply-damaged, dependant patients, who are looked after in the living quarters I and II with 75 beds in all. Both the living quarters are divided into four groups of 10, 20 and 24 persons. For each group a common living room is available.

The big park with its old trees is very inviting – to sit down, for walks and for activities in and with nature. A garden has been specially designed for these special living quarters for therapeutic purposes. It helps the residents to once again find meaning and structure in their lives. The therapeutic facilities are complemented by a creative space that can be used by all the residents.

The Dahlia section of the home was set up to care for 18 men with addiction-related health problems. The large park with its ancient trees makes the ideal place to walk, sit and enjoy nature. There is a special garden specifically designed to be used by the Dahlia residents for therapeutic purposes, to help them find structure and purpose in their lives.

Pets and plants in the house complement this concept and impart a feeling of belonging, familial warmth and offer the residents the opportunity to learn to take on responsibility again. Our guiding principle in the care we provide is "as much independence as possible, as much help as necessary". A highly trained team of staff and modern working methods guarantee that the care we offer is always of the highest quality.

In the town there is a riding yard recognized for sports for the handicapped and it is a unique chance for rehabilitation. Here therapeutic riding is offered under medical supervision on a doctor’s recommendation.
